These guidelines are meant to maximize our success. The closer we stay to the formula, the greater chance of success, as evidenced from the accomplishments to date:
- Meetings must start on time.
- Annual dues are required after one guest appearance. Mid year membership will be pro-rated for the payment of the second years dues.
- We maintain single industry slots so as not to overlap referral activity.
- A member is expected to attend every meeting, and to send a replacement from their company (or a qualified acquaintance) in the event of a required absence.
- If a member is absent three consecutive meetings or a majority of the monthly meetings, then his/her spot will be filled by a new member.
- Members are encouraged to meet at minimum, one other member on a one on one basis during the month to further referral activity and create trust amongst each other.
- The monthly meeting is to spark the referral process, update members with the groups' current events and of course to meet prospective new members/guests.
- Each member is encouraged to bring guests at no charge for an exploratory meeting and introduction to their fellow members.
- The NYBDN website should be linked to each member's site and e-mail address, if possible.
- Membership is a privilege and benefits extended by the group and fellow members should be used in a professional manner. We encourage each other to follow the straight path and give a good name to the NYBDN organization.
